I recently had the opportunity to visit the new Veggie Grill in Laguna Niguel for the grand opening and was quite excited to have the vegan food experience! This restaurant provides great food for quite a reasonable price! I am personally not a Vegan and I do eat meat, but I love to have new experiences trying different foods, so when my friend/fellow blogger, Irene Yu from Yu Bargain Rockstar

invited me as her plus one as a guest blogger to a Yelp party, I happily accepted her invitation.:) Veggie Grill is a place I have heard of in the past that I wanted to check out and I must say, I was quite excited that the new location was in Laguna Niguel. Laguna Niguel is located in South Orange County, California which was only 6 miles from my home.:)

The Veggie Grill currently has 18 locations throughout Northern & Southern California as well as in Oregon & Washington. They have a 19th location opening soon in Encino, California. The Veggie Grill started in 2005 in West Hollywood, so expansion has been pretty amazing over the last 8 years! The Veggie Grill offers delivery service through different companies from several of their locations. See website to see if a Veggie Grill near you offers delivery.

The menu at the Veggie Grill has many options including gluten-free & soy-free items. For a starter, Irene & I tried the Uptown Nachos which had tortilla chips, chili, VG-cheese, corn, salsa, avocado, soy cream, and jalapenos. We were both not into spicy stuff, so we removed the jalapenos, but these nachos were fabulous…Now I must say, I am a huge cheese fanatic and this cheese was vegan, so it was nondairy, but I loved the flavor. I could not even tell it was made from soy. The flavor was amazing and seemed just liked the cheese I would have on my normal plate of non-vegan nachos. All of the flavors blended together nicely and we enjoyed this appetizer in concurrence with our main course.

For our main course, we both ordered Papa’s Portobello which had Grilled mushroom, chopped tomato, basil & garlic pomodoro, caramelized onions, pesto, lettuce, red onion, & chipotle ranch. This was super yum! We both loved this sandwich and it was surprisingly very filling!!

For desert we tried the carrot cake and the iced desert made from soy that totally tasted like ice cream. The consistency on the iced desert was slightly different than ice cream, but was still super creamy and the carrot cake had fabulous flavor and the icing tasted like cream cheese. We were quite impressed!

Of course since I am a deals/lifestyles page, I must share how awesome the prices were at the Veggie Grill! Starters ranged between $2.25 & $7.95, soups & salads from $2.95 – $9.95, burgers, sandwiches & plates from $7.95-$9.95, & deserts from $1.95-$3.50 & kids meals for $5.95. This place was very worth the value and the prices were very reasonable. I definitely recommend checking out the Veggie Grill if there is one local in your area or if you are travelling within California, Oregon, or Washington!

Nice food!
Oh yes it was! 🙂
Veggie Grill is one of my favorite places to eat!!! My daughter took me there for my birthday recently. We were introduced to them through a lunch that they provided to my husband’s company. It was amazing that the chicken-less sandwich tasted like real chicken! My favorite item on the menu is the All Hale Kale salad!
How awesome Loretta! I am so happy to hear how much you and your family enjoyed the Veggie Grill! I have yet to try the Hale Kale Salad! I will have to check it out:)
I haven’t visited a vegan restaurant in years. This one sounds fun!
Thank you:) You would love it!
That looks so good, I am a vegetarian so it is right up my alley:) (one of those sayings that started somewhere not even sure what right up my alley means) (LOL)
Awesome Teresa! It was all great fresh food! Funny about that statement…I know what you are saying though:)
I was a big meat and potatoes man until recently. This sounds like a great place.
