Have you visited Mimi’s Cafe recently? They are located in 24 different states in our fabulous great nation. 🙂 I had not had the opportunity to visit one in awhile, but I used to go there regularly with my grandma and we were quite fond of the carrot raisin bread basket, French onion soup, and the albacore tuna sandwich and of course there are a variety of other fabulous menu items we loved. 🙂

Something exciting is happening at Mimi’s Café that I would love to share with you as my readers! On October 7th Mimi’s Café will be returning to a predominantly French Restaurant with some fabulous new menu items to offer as well as their classic favorites! Also (this part makes me happy) their carrot raisin bread that they took away for awhile is back! 🙂 All you have to do is ask for a complimentary basket. It is amazing bread! It is a must have if you never have had it!

I would like to share all of the new menu items Mimi’s will be releasing in October because you are sure to enjoy them for each tasty morsel as I had the opportunity to do at Mimi’s a few weeks ago! Mimi’s Café will be introducing 3 new appetizers and 11 entrees for their dinner menu as well as a fabulous new breakfast menu!
The newest appetizers at Mimi’s Include:
Mussels a la Mimi’s – steamed in white wine, garlic and fresh herbs, served with garlic French baguette croutons

Petite Seafood Crepe – home-made herbed crepe with sautéed shrimp, scallops and spinach in a savory, cream lobster sauce

Baked Brie – warm, bubbly brie with French baguette croutons, tart apple slices and apricot chutney

I loved all of the appetizers above, but my personal favorite was the fresh creamy brie with the apple and apricot. The flavor was amazing and left my mouth craving for more..My only qualm about this dish was that we all wished there were more baguette croutons to go with the cheese. 🙂

There are 11 new entrees Mimi’s brought to the table for us to try and of course we all had our favorites, but I do not think there were any items that people were not pleased with.:)

Out of the items above, I personally tried The Grilled Salmon Salad Nicoise, Bouillabaisse, Bistro Bavette Steak, Saint-Malo Pasta, and the Brioche Croque Madame. I loved the Brioche Croque Madame and the Salmon Salad Nicoise. Those two were definitely my personal favorites. The flavors were amazing and both dishes were very satisfying to the palate.
I also tried two awesome breakfast items coming on October two. They were both waffle dishes made with some of my favorite ingredients. They were:
Strawberry Waffle Perdu – Mimi’s original pain perdu filling of cream cheese and orange marmalade on three golden brown petite waffles topped with fresh strawberry sauce. 7.99

Bacon Apple Waffle – Three golden brown petite waffles topped with apples, hickory-smoked bacon, syrup and a hint of orange zest. 7.49

I live in Montgomery, Alabama. Anxiously awaiting the new menu. If you plan to have a free sample tasting night, I would love to be included. I have been waiting so long for a restaurant to serve something “different” and home made. If that’s not possible, do you have a discount coupon. Thanks in advance.
