Mother’s Day is just around the corner and my email box has been overflowing with a wealth of different fabulous restaurants and their Mother’s Day offerings. There are so many delicious places to choose from this upcoming Sunday, so I just thought I would share some awesome Mother’s Day options with you as I do every year!

On Sunday, May 11, 2014 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. & Dinner from 5-11 p.m. Fig & Olive, Newport Beach and Executive Chef Pascal Lorange invite Orange County families to celebrate Mother’s Day in style at Fashion Island. Reservations can be made by calling the restaurant at 212.924.1200.
Chef Lorange has prepared a three-course prix-fixe brunch ($40*) and dinner ($52*) menu, comprised of signature dishes highlighting flavors inspired by the South of France including:
*French Omelet with fine herbs, scallion, chive, asparagus, and goat cheese, served with Mediterranean fries and mixed greens
*Truffle Mushroom Croquette with cremini mushroom, parmesan béchamel, and truffle olive oil
*Zucchini Blossom and Goat Cheese Ravioli with zucchini emulsion, tomato confit, crispy zucchini blossoms with parmesan and shaved ricotta salata
*Petite Filet Mignon Creekstone Farm filet mignon marinated with rosemary thyme, garlic, haricot vert, caramelized shallots, and olive oil chive mashed potatoes

In celebration of Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 11th, Chefs de Cuisine Benjamin Wallenbeck and Justin Odegard have crafted seasonally-inspired brunch and supper menus for OC families to enjoy with mom on her special day. Dining at The Cellar on this special day will be by reservation only at 714.525.5682 or email@example.com If Mom would prefer to dine in the evening, the regular menu will be available from 5:30pm. Each Mom will receive a dessert of her choice or a glass of champagne. Menu is as follows:
Crab cake with mango relish
Mixed green salad topped with a champagne vinaigrette, blue cheese, walnuts, and dried figs
Chilled honey dew and mint soup topped with creme fraiche
Herb goat cheese and wild mushroom puff pastry
Pork belly Benedict over roasted gem stone potatoes topped with bearnaise
Smoked salmon bagel with chive cream cheese, and scrambled eggs
Prime rib with a rosemary au jus over roasted gem stone potatoes

Patina Group Restaurants
In honor of Mother’s Day, Patina Restaurant Group’s Orange County locations Pinot Provence (now closed), Catal and Tangata have created specialty brunch menus to shower mothers with the gift of delicious cuisine amidst a beautiful setting that feels like a spring garden party or a sumptuous gathering in one of the elegant dining rooms. As an extra appreciation token, all mothers will receive a special keepsake recipe booklet by Patina Pastry Chef Carlos Enriquez!

Master Chef Helene “Mama” An creates a variety of delectable Asian cuisine to honor mothers, plus all moms receive a complimentary “Mama-Mosa.” This cocktail is made with Bacardi Rum, fresh pineapple, muddled citrus and sparkling wine. Besides the a la carte menu, Mother’s Day specials have been created such as smoked salmon rillete, heirloom tomato salad, Meyer’s flat iron sirloin, Vietnamese herb-crusted filet of sole, Vietnamese quiche tartlet and summer black cherry clafoutis, priced from $10 to $36. A la carte prices vary with selections.
The Capital Grille
May 11 from 11am-3pm – Mother’s Day Brunch
Invite mom to a special three course prix fixe brunch with choices. Start with a choice of French onion soup, fresh oysters, smoked salmon, lobster and crab cake, field greens salad or shrimp cocktail. The mains include lobster eggs Benedict, seared halibut, bone-in sirloin 14 oz. steak, 8 oz. filet mignon, citrus-glazed salmon and much more. Finish with a decadent dessert. A kid’s menu features mac & cheese, mini burgers and fresh fruits.

Celebrate Mother’s Day in elegant style with a three course prix fixe menu with choices. First course offers options like jumbo asparagus salad, roasted eggplant ravioli, market green salad, ahi tuna tartare, creamy clam chowder or tri-tip beef carpaccio. Next, choose a main such as herb-steamed Alaskan halibut, roasted Mary’s farm chicken, roasted garlic soft shell crabs, pan-seared Scottish salmon, grilled Beeler’s farm pork tomahawk or filet mignon. Finish with a sumptuous dessert.

Treat your mom to a bountiful French-inspired three-course prix fixe menu with choices, prepared by chef/owners Amelia and Florent Marneau. Start off with a choice of panzanella salade composée or spring organic steamed asparagus. Next, select either Maine diver scallops served with wild garlic ramps and sweet corn risotto or braised Colorado lamb shank, crispy lollipop baby kale and wild mushrooms. Dessert is white chocolate feuilletine with berries. For cheese lovers, a cheese board with selected cheeses, baguette, pecans and “crushin jam” is $16. A la carte menu is also available.

May 11 from 5-10pm – Cheers to Mamma
Mom is sure to enjoy Pizzera Ortica’s Mother’s Day specials, featuring dishes inspired by chefs Justin Miller and Judy Flynn’s recipes from their mothers. Chef Miller offers braised pork cheek and baked brie in a sourdough bread bowl for $19 and a pasta dish with spinach, ricotta, tomato sauce and parmesan cheese, priced at $14. Judy features her mother’s recipes: a crab terrine of broiled crab and artichokes, served with melted butter and sourdough bread for $20 and tangy lemon bars with vanilla ice cream and peaches at $11.
Royal Khyber Indian Cuisine
May 11 from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm – Mother’s Day Indian Buffet
Enjoy an Indian-inspired buffet brunch, which includes a variety of appetizers, salads vegetarian, fish, lamb and chicken dishes, Tandoori breads, desserts and fruits. Omelettes and pancakes made to order upon request. Cocktails for $5 include Bloody Meeras, Mimosas, Kissopolitians and Taj Mahal Punch.

Known as a premier 1940s family restaurant, Ruby’s Diner offers “Mom’s Eat Free” on Mother’s Day with a minimum $10 purchase, plus all moms receive a Mother’s Day gift card, which is good for one complimentary burger from May 12-23.

Z’Tejas offers a special Mother’s Day brunch, where all moms are treated to dessert along with a complimentary family photo. Guests can also build their own Bloody Marys, Bloody Marias, Minosas and Screwdrivers priced at $4 each. Brunch items include breakfast quesadilla, breakfast enchiladas, spinach and wild mushroom omelet, pork verde and eggs and migas, all priced under $15, and served with assorted fruit and a freshly baked muffin.
