Last weekend we went to check out The Beach Barrel, a Newport Beach restaurant that opened a year ago in the lovely city of Newport Beach! The Beach Barrel is located across the street from the Newport Beach City Hall building and is conveniently located a 15-minute walk from the Newport Beach pier. 🙂

I had heard about the Beach Barrel because they are known for having late night dining until 3am which is perfect for when all of the local bars and nightclubs shut down in the area and you are starving and scouring the area looking for some munchies! Beach Barrel is the solution! Not only are they open until 3 am, they also have FREE delivery service within 3.5 miles of their establishment when you order at least $20 of food. This is not hard to do! 🙂

When we visited the Beach Barrel we ordered 3 different items, an appetizer and 2 entrees, along with 2 drinks and it was under $40. The prices were really decent! See the full menu of dining options below. 🙂

We started with the garlic cheesy stix which were tasty in flavor and were cooked in a pizza oven. I also hear their flatbreads are amazing! The cheesy stix are served with a choice of marinara sauce or ranch and both are homemade in house! All dressings at the Beach Barrel are made from scratch. I opted to try both the ranch and the marinara and they were both excellent! I really cannot say I liked one more than the other as they both hit the spot and were even good mixed together on the same garlic cheesy stick.

Next our entrees came out. My hubby got their famous Playo Cubano that the Beach Barrel is known for. This sandwich was citrus braised pork, smoked ham, Swiss cheese, house pickles, & dijonaise on a grill pressed French Roll! My hubby was hungry when he arrived and he was definitely full when he left after devouring this tasty goodness. He said it had sweet and salty layers to it and the flavors blended perfectly.

I opted for the Barrel Burger which was a seasoned Angus ground beef patty with avocado, grilled bell peppers, romaine, tomato, red onion, and house thousand island dressing on a grilled brioche bun with cheddar cheese! The star for me on this burger was the homemade thousand island as it accentuated the flavors of the meat and vegetables and I enjoyed almost each and every bite until I had to give the last three bites to my hubby because my tummy was full! 🙂
