I was recently invited in to dine at The Pizza Press and was excited to do so. I am a big pizza fanatic and I love trying all of the new places that pop up to see how they vary in terms of crust, quality, cheese, topping varieties and more. I went to visit the newest location in Rancho Santa Margarita in South Orange County and I was excited because I saw they were open until midnight and there are not many places open that late where I live in South Orange County. I was told they also had a variety of craft beer and I was sold!

Pizza Press is a popular spot throughout Southern California with 5 locations already established and 15 locations opening soon. There will be 10 more locations coming to So Cal and also 3 locations in North Carolina, 1 in Texas, and 1 in Nevada!

The Pizza Press makes their own dough right in front of your very own eyes that quickly cooks into a thin crust that is ready to be decked out with fresh ingredients that you can select at their pizza bar. 🙂 The theme in The Pizza Press is all about the news with a newspaper décor inside and In addition to “Publish Your Own Pizza”, (select your own toppings) there are choices of eight delicious pizzas inspired by newspapers from around the country, including “The Times”, “The Tribune”, and “The Chronicle”.

On our pizza journey we decided to each design our own pizza and order garlic cheesy bread because we heard it was quite tasty.

My pizza was prepared with standard tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, pearlini cheese, and a bit of cheddar. For my toppings, I selected mushrooms, pineapple, garlic, and basil with a sprinkling of parmesan cheese. Mushroom and pineapple has always been my favorite go-to pizza since I was a small child and the basil and garlic added a nice touch!

To pair with my pizza, I got one of the 18 craft brews they had on tap. I proudly selected the Angel City Brewing White Nite Ale which had 6.7% alcohol. I have enjoyed beer from Angel City Brewery at past OC Weekly events and I love them! I definitely recommend this beer, which was full of flavor.

My hubby prepared his pizza with several different ingredients and even got crazy with different sauces. He requested the spicy red sauce and Frank’s hot sauce on his pizza. For toppings he had bacon, cherry tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, pearlini cheese, roasted corn, arugula, and parmesan cheese! Talk about a pizza with a mass quantity of toppings!!
To go with Tom’s pizza he selected the Modern Times Black House Nitro, a classic favorite of his. My hubby has been on a big stout kick for quite awhile and one of his faves for sure is Modern Times which is locally based out of San Diego. 🙂

We also enjoyed the Garlic Cheesy bread in addition to our pizzas and were excited to have leftovers for later in the evening after we came home from an evening of dancing at our local Irish pub, Patsy’s in Mission Viejo. 🙂

Pizza Press was tasty and quick and like I said we were super stoked to find a place in our neighborhood that was open until midnight! Pizza Press has a delicious fresh baked crust and the prices are quite economical! For about $10 you can build your own pizza with unlimited toppings! Have you been in yet to visit your local Pizza Press? What did you think? 🙂
