On Saturday, August 17th I had the opportunity to attend a fabulous evening of tray passed appetizers and signature cocktails hosted by Jimmy’s Famous American Tavern, otherwise known as “JFAT.” This awesome party that contained around 300 people was a fundraiser for the newest restaurant in Dana Point. The money raised from the grand opening charity event went to support Point 5th Marine Regiment Support Group, which is a non-profit organization, dedicated to providing support and outreach to the 5th Marines and Sailors, stationed at Camp Pendleton and deployed, as well as their families at home.

The interior of the new Jimmy’s Famous American Tavern in Dana Point was awesome. I have never been to the original location in San Diego, but the Dana Point location blew me away! The architecture of the restaurant was decadent! There was a large bar central in the restaurant that served a variety of decadent cocktails, wine, and beer and the interior had fabulous dark woods and leather booths! I am always scoping out a nice booth when I dine out. 🙂

The menu at JFat has a large variety of traditional American traditional items that are prepared daily from scratch. We had an opportunity to hear from chef/restaurateur David Wilhelm about his new restaurant and there was much excitement throughout the evening. The restaurant will open to the public, tomorrow, Tuesday, August 27, 2013. Be sure to make a reservation soon and get in to check it out! You will be impressed!

JFAT serves fresh local organic and sustainable food products and are also nationally certified GRA as a “Green Restaurant” which involves using recycled supplies, water conservation, and utility saving equipment. This was quite impressive to me! 🙂

Some of the items we had the opportunity to sample at the fabulous event included:
