Wine and Wishes Charity Event – Make-A-Wish Orange County and Inland Empire – Kaleidoscope Mission Viejo

 

There is an awesome charity event coming to Mission Viejo next week called Wines and Wishes that will be returning to Kaleidoscope Center for the fourth year to Benefit Make-A-Wish Foundation for Orange County and the Inland Empire!  Make-A-Wish grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions!  It was founded in 1980 when a group of caring volunteers helped a young boy fulfill his dream of becoming a police officer. Make-A-Wish is one of the world’s leading children’s charities, with 62 chapters in the United States and its territories. Make-A-Wish has been able to grant a wish every 38 minutes and has granted more than 240,000 wishes in the United States since its inception.  What an awesome organization. I am so excited to be a part of this! I always love to support charity events and of course events in which wine is involved are my favorite. 🙂  This event will be held on Wednesday, July 30 from 6 to 9 p.m.

In attendance at this annual event there will be a variety of both boutique and renowned wineries including Cakebread Cellars, Rombauer Vineyards, Justin Vineyards, Iron Horse Winery, J. Lohr Vineyards, Brassfield Estate Vineyards, Cass Winery, Honig Vineyard & Winery, South Coast Winery, Foley Estates Vineyards & Winery, Maggio Family Vineyards, Maddalena Vineyard, San Antonio Winery, Spellbound Wines, Oak Ridge Winery, Hook & Ladder and Artazuri Wines.  This is a fabulous variety if you ask me!!  Two of my favorites are Cakebread Winery and South Coast Winery, so I cannot wait to devour those and try a variety of other new wineries as well!

 

In addition to wine tasting, there will be a variety of tastings from the restaurants at the Kaleidoscope including Riptide Rockin’ Sushi & Teppan Grills with Master Sushi Chef Ken Cruz preparing freshly made sushi, Rolling Boil, a Shabu Shabu restaurant, and The Hatch, specializing in sliders (Rolling Boil & Shabu Shabu will soon be opening in the new Union Market Mission Viejo later this year at Kaleidoscope). A variety of other restaurants in the Kaleidoscope will have small bites as well as Local Chef Donna B of Donna B’s Bakery. Chef Donna will share her delicious treats at the Wine and Wishes event! In addition to food and wine, there will be live jazz, raffles and more!

New this year is a VIP experience in which guests can enjoy their wine tasting with Sommelier Marcelino Cosio from Young’s Market Estate Group in a reserved seating area, along with their own artisanal cheese display, and each VIP guest will receive a swag bag. Tickets are limited for the VIP experience.  Who does not like to go VIP style? 🙂

 

An awesome service being offered this year for the first time is $25 coupons good toward Lyft, which is a company that operates like a taxi service for a better value in which you can get service to and from your destination for a reasonable price!  $25 worth of Lyft services will definitely pay for my ride home from the event since I live only 6 miles away! What a great deal!  The discount cards for Lyft will be provided upon check in.

An awesome factor about this event specifically is that each year proceeds have granted between one and three wishes to Make-A-Wish children each year!  I am very much looking forward to supporting and attending this awesome event this year!

Pre-sale tickets for this event are $55 per person or $100 per couple, and will be $60 per person at the door, so make sure to get your tickets in advance! Limited tickets are available for the VIP experience at $75 per person. Designated driver discount tickets are also available for $25 per person. Tickets can be purchased online.  I hope to see you there!
