I was so excited when I saw that there was a new Gastro Pub coming to town in my area where I live in South Orange County. I must say in my surrounding cities of South Orange County including Lake Forest, Mission Viejo, Laguna Niguel and Aliso Viejo we really do not have too many unique dining experiences. Just a few months ago a new place popped up local in the area called Pub Thirty-Two and when they reached out to me to come in to see what they had to offer I of course kindly obliged!

Pub Thirty-Two is now occupying the former restaurant space of Tijuana Gillies in the Gateway Shopping Center near the cross streets Via Fabricante & Alicia Parkway. Conveniently located next to a variety of other businesses such as Starbucks and French’s Bakery, it definitely adds some exciting flare to the neighborhood! One thing that bummed me out is that Pub Thirty-Two is located behind the Urgent Care Center and it is difficult to see from the street. I am hoping they will get a bigger sign closer to the street soon. This place is very easy to find upon entry to the shopping center and once you dine there once, I am sure you will be back again to visit soon. I know I will! 🙂

As I entered Pub Thirty-Two, there was an elaborate bar area in front of me and small pub tables to the left and then a full dining room to the right. They also had a cute little outdoor patio area that they are hoping to utilize for more seating and maybe even wine or beer dinners. It is a really cute courtyard!

The proprietor of Pub Thirty-Two, Diarmuid Noone as well as the Sous Chef, Jared Adams we had the opportunity to meet were both Irish and we could see quite a bit of Irish flare in the food which brought back fabulous memories of our summer trip to Ireland in 2013! Head Chef, Glen Tinsley grew up in the South County, Orange county area, but his culinary journeys took him throughout California after completing Culinary School in San Francisco. He was also a chef of a Michelin rated restaurant in Tuscany, Italy! The restaurant is farm-to-fork, and the menu changes seasonally. The restaurant partners with local ranches and farms to create fresh, local, and sustainable food.

We were quickly seated at our table by an awesome, friendly server named John. John truly became our good buddy throughout our dining journey that evening. He was so very friendly and made us feel quite welcome, like we were visiting an old friend we had not seen in a long time that had prepared a special menu of many options just for us. 😉

We started with a Tank 7 beer which is a lovely Saison/Farmhouse Ale from Kansas City, Missouri. Lately my husband and I have really grown to love this style of beer and we seem to see them becoming more and more popular! At 8.5% alcohol content, it definitely gets your motor running. 🙂 We also shared a bottle of the First Press Cabernet Sauvignon from the Napa Valley Wine region! The awesome fact was that it happened to be “Wine Wednesday” so this bottle was half price! Every Wednesday, Pub Thirty-Two offers their “Wine Wednesday” program where a variety of different wines are offered by the bottle for ½ price! I love that! This was a full bodied wine which is my personal favorite…lots of flavor to make your mouth pucker!

For dinner we started with The White Salad per our server’s recommendation. This was his personal favorite and we loved it as well! This salad came with white endives, hearts of palm, mushrooms, water chestnuts, goat cheese and a creamy shallot dressing. We loved this salad and the only thing I would personally add to it is a bit more goat cheese! This is great goat cheese might I add!

For our entrees I ordered the Buttermilk Fried Chicken with Mac N’ Cheese, bacon gravy & braised greens and my husband ordered the IPA

Short Rib which came highly recommended by our waiter, John. The short rib was prepared with green beans, mashed potatoes, crispy onions and IPA barbecue sauce. The short ribs were literally marinated in an IPA beer overnight and the flavor was amazingly juicy and delicious. I would recommend both of these items and I was super excited to have leftover chicken for lunch the next day as the portion sizes were hearty! 🙂

Lastly, for dessert we had a sour cream fudge cake and a bread pudding. Both of these were easy to put away quickly! After polishing off both of our desserts we chatted with the staff and checked out the bar area as it was quite lively with a variety of people. I cannot wait to go back to Pub Thirty-Two and I am truly so excited to have a place like this in close proximity to where I live! Visit Pub Thirty-Two conveniently located in the city of Mission Viejo at 23962 Alicia Pkwy., Mission Viejo, CA 92691!

The food looks good, but not sure they can call it a pub though. It looks pretty swank though.
It was a local fun place where you can go to get a yummy bite to eat as well as a variety of wine and beer! Cool spot!
Buttermilk Fried Chicken! Oh my gosh, something I would definitely want to eat!
The chicken was literally so amazing! Such great flavor with a homemade batter!!
This looks like such a great place. The food is amazing.
I could not agree more! I am happy to have it in my neighborhood!
The Pub Thirty-Two is so beautiful. I’ve seen one of this ambiance in our local restaurant here.
Very cool! This is definitely a hot spot in our neighborhood!
Been here a few times. Decent food but saw the owner yelling at an employee in front of customers. Inexperienced manager was engaged in socializing with young girls in his staff more than working.
Desserts were good, nice selection of beers but does not give a pub feel. Besides owner and management Id give this place a 3 stars for food, alcohol service. Nice interior though.
I am sorry to hear you had an experience like that. Maybe give them a second try? I am thinking it may have been an off night? I look forward to going back to check it out again soon!
Can”t be topped !!
I agree! Fabulous food & drink! 😃👍
