Have you ever been to Mi Casa Mexican Restaurant?  They have two locations, the original location in Costa Mesa and a newer location in Rancho Santa Margarita.  I have always loved this place as it is a staple in the city of Costa Mesa and has been there since 1972…before I was born! 🙂

When I used to live in Newport Beach in my lovely apartments at the Coronado of Newport, I used to go to Mi Casa all of the time with my friends for margaritas and their famous Mexican Pizza!  I still love to visit Mi Casa even though I have moved away from the area. It also helps that they also opened one up in our area in south Orange County as well!

Recently I went to visit Mi Casa in Costa Mesa on a random Sunday afternoon with my husband for Linner (not quite lunch and not quite dinner) because I was having a massive craving for  a Mexican Pizza before heading to Disneyland!  We were pleasantly surprised to find that there were some new fall offerings on the menu as well, which caught my husband’s eye!

Upon arriving at Mi Casa in Costa Mesa we were promptly seated and selected our margaritas quickly.  We each started with a Cazadores Cadillac which consisted of Cazadores Reposado, Grand Marnier, Sweet & Sour, and Lime Juice freshly blended.  I loved the flavor of this Margarita as it was not too sour or too sweet. As I sipped this drink a little too quickly, I knew that I may have to try just one more margarita before our linner ended. 🙂 Fresh chips and salsa were promptly brought to our table while we mulled over the menus.

After ordering my most favorite item, the Mexican Pizza I ran to the restroom really quick and was surprised to see that the restrooms had been completely redone with an adorable Dia de Los Muertos theme! It was like it was right in time for the holiday itself! Normally I do not mention the restrooms in my article,

but the walls were so super cute, I had to do the standard bathroom selfie which you can see in my pictures.  Seriously though, the bathroom did need a remodel and the floors and walls were redone.   It was really nice…so just had to give it a quick mention. 🙂

Back to linner…my Mexican Pizza arrived to the table just as I order it every time, no green chilies or olives with chicken and I was ready to go to town!  My husband opted for a Chipotle Skirt Steak, one of the new fall menu items.  🙂

Our food was served promptly and we ordered one more margarita to share so we would not end up being unable to drive to Disneyland. The third Margarita was a Millionaire Margarita that was made with Maestro Dobel “Diamond”, Grand Marnier, Sweet & Sour, and Lime Juice. I really enjoyed this cocktail. It ended up being our personal favorite! 🙂

I recommend Mi Casa as it is one of my favorite Mexican Restaurants to visit. There is a welcoming atmosphere throughout, the service is attentive, and the bar makes all of the drinks from scratch with their own secret recipe of Sweet & Sour.

Other Fall Menu items to try at Mi Casa include a Grilled Avocado & Shrimp Salad, Grilled, Veggie Burrito and Skirt Steak tacos.  Have you tired any of these new items? If not, you should head into Mi Casa soon! It is located centrally in the city of Costa Mesa on 17th street with a variety of fun shops and restaurants and less than 2 miles from Newport Beach!
