A few weeks ago I was invited to cover an upcoming event called Spa Week and they gave me an opportunity to select any spa affiliated with Spa Week (which starts on April 13th) to visit their clinic for a massage or facial treatment. I ended up selecting a place close to my home in Orange County called the OC Facial Care Center which is located in Mission Viejo, CA at 26381 Crown Valley Parkway, Suite 200.. I had never heard of OC Facial Care before and quite honestly I have only had massages in the past at large facilities such as Burke Williams (variety of locations) or South Coast Winery Resort & Spa (located in Temecula). I was excited to check out a local business and was eager to see what they had to offer in comparison to the big businesses I have been to in the past.
Upon entering the OC Facial Care Center I was warmly welcomed by a woman at the front desk that gave me my paperwork to fill out with a pleasant smile. As I started to fill out my paperwork, and introduce myself, we found that we both had a passion for travel and started chatting just like we had been old friends that had not seen one another in a few years! I soon came to find out that this woman with the warm smile, friendly handshake and good conversation was also the owner & Managing Director of OC Facial Care Center, Kate Hancock. 🙂 This made me happy because the intimacy of the spa itself as well as the friendly clientele put me at instant ease and it was a pleasure to be there.
Kate led me into the waiting room that was filled with an infrared sauna and relaxing sofas, beverages, and a cupcake display to fill out my paperwork and gave me an ice water in a gorgeous silver goblet. As I sipped my water and we chatted about travel, she also told me about their awesome oxygen facials that they do at the facility and insisted it was another treatment I must revisit at a later date! I am definitely excited to check it out in the future. 🙂
Soon the massage therapist, Grace welcomed me into the massage room and turned on the magnificent nature tunes that always flow when you are getting a massage and proceeded to begin my 60 minute Therapeutic Massage treatment in which she used a combination of techniques to work out the kinks in my lower back and put me at ease overall. I had requested the stone massage and she incorporated them into my treatment as well. (If you have never done a hot stone massage, I highly recommend it. 🙂 It has become my personal favorite over the years!)
As Grace proceeded with the massage she made sure at all times to ask me if I liked it harder or softer and she definitely put pressure and massaged into each of my muscle groups. Quite honestly, she did a great job & I highly recommend her when you plan to visit OC Facial Care center. 🙂 I was thoroughly relaxed and ready for my nap upon leaving the facility.
In addition to massage treatments, Kate also offers events at her spa, one of them being the Mom’s Night out in which she has appetizers and beverages along with local businesses such as jewelry vendors, tea vendors and more! I would call to inquire about these awesome parties that happen for a nominal fee and they are a great way to gather with other women in a comfortable welcoming environment!
I loved the OC Facial Care Center and cannot wait to go back again soon for a future treatment, especially the oxygen facial I mentioned above. Kate will definitely take care of you when you go! Tell her Dani’s Decadent Deals sent you! 🙂
