The 4th annual Summer Fest Event put together by OC Weekly will be happening on Saturday, July 16, 2016 from 1pm to 5pm at the Newport Dunes & this event is always a blast! This party will be a celebration of OC Weekly‘s much-anticipated June 16th Summer Guide issue! Enjoy a bunch of my past photos from a variety of different OC Weekly events throughout this article! 🙂
Some of the activities at this event will include performances on a beachside stage, beer and drink booths, food trucks, vendors and a VIP Cabana that will house a Summer Cocktail Lounge and the famous “Taco Throwdown” contest!
All attendees will receive a commemorative tasting glass upon entry to enjoy for use all day at he different vendors participating at the event!
Some of the places that will be pouring libations freely will include: Angel City Brewery, Anheuser Busch, Coffee Bean& Tea Leaf, Corona, Diabolo, Knee Deep Brewing, Lagunitas Brewing Co., Latitude 33 Brewing, Newport Brew Co., Sambazon, Sapporo and Tito’s Handmade Vodka. Aquafina Hydration Stations will also be available with free ice-cold water and flavored sparkling water will also be there as well! It is so important to stay hydrated!! 🙂
In the Tito’s Handmade Vodka VIP & Summer Cocktail Lounge, VIP attendees will have extra tastings from The Hub, Macallans Public House and the soon to re-open Royal Hawaiian! They will be each be pouring their favorite summer libations using Tito’s Handmade Vodka!
Some of Orange County’s favorite food trucks will also be in attendance, including Burger Monster, California Grill Truck, Falasophy, Haole Boys Shave Ice, Piaggio On Wheels and Sweet Lou’s BBQ. Mini sampling bites will also be provided by Sambazon, Krave Jerky and The Halal Guys.
VIP ticket holders get the added amenity of dessert by Gelato Paradiso and tacos from the five competitors of the 2nd Annual Taco Throwdown, that will take place in the Tito’s Handmade Vodka VIP Cabana.
The competitors for the Taco Throwdown this year will include Borracho Tacos, Tacolized, The Fifth, TLT Food and Urbana. There will be a judges vote and an attendee vote. The winner of the attendee vote will receive a custom trophy, OC Weekly print ad, and editorial announcements!
In addition to food and drink booths, Summer Fest party goers will also be able to shop at a variety of retail booths including: Aroma Wellness, Black Flys, Bohemian Mama, CPC Swimwear, Epiq Laguna Beach Boutique, Franky Castle Art, Johnny Brushstrokes Art, Marcelo Calvopina Art, Nickel + Birch, Puppies Make Me Happy, Raptor Jewelry, Sabre Sunglasses, and Sadie Slick. Cox Communications will also provide a free photo booth for everyone to take fun photos!
Bands that will be playing at the event this year include: Rootz Underground (from Jamaica), Cali Conscious and Black Salt Tone. The VIP gazebo will also have performances from The Oles, and Chad Martini.
Tickets are available online now until 10am on July 16th for purchase at http://www.ocsummerfest.com. VIP tickets are available for purchase for $50 and general admission tickets for $30. Pricing will increase by $10 on July 5th.
