Next week the annual summer event that is a charity event to support Hoag Hospital for the 29th year is coming back into town! In the past The Hoag Summer Classic has been an event in which there is a movie on the big screen and a variety of restaurants from all over Orange County in attendance, but this year they are doing things a little different. This year the event is all about the food and live entertainment! More than 30 of the finest restaurants in Orange County will be providing delicious food and drink at the Newport Dunes. Live musical performances will be performed by The Chicago Experience and The Doobie Experience. This event has sold out of yesterday, but should more tickets become available, I will update this immediately.
The Newport Dunes is conveniently located at the Back Bay at 1131 Back Bay Drive in Newport Beach and there are so many fun events that are put together there, but this one is very special to me in that I have been a patient of Hoag Hospital for most of my life. I love to give back to the community. Of course it does not hurt when there are several fancy schmancy restaurants with top-notch food, spirits, wine, and beer to enjoy!
The fun will be happening on Wednesday, June 29th at 5:00pm and all proceeds will go to the hospital! This event is put together every year by Hoag Hospital and the 552 Club. The 552 Club, a community-based support group that works directly with Hoag Hospital & is made up of individual volunteers and donors, is dedicated to promoting and financially supporting Hoag. The 552 Club has raised more than $40 million for Hoag since its founding in 1966 and the Hoag Summer Classic is one of their biggest events of the year!
“We are very grateful to the 552 Club that has brought the fun and excitement of the Hoag Summer Classic to Newport Beach since 1988,” said Flynn A. Andrizzi, PhD, president of Hoag Hospital Foundation. “Thanks to our generous donors, restaurants, and volunteers, this gourmet food event has raised more than $2 million dollars. But even more importantly, it has been for many, the introduction to volunteering with and giving to Hoag. For nearly 30 years, many of those friends continue to work tirelessly to uphold the Hoag Promise of delivering exceptional health care to Orange County.”

Guests will have the opportunity to purchase raffles tickets for their chance to win a one-year Lease of a brand new car from Sterling BMW Newport Beach and other gift packages from participating restaurants. Individual tickets are $50 and include all food and beverage. Hope to see you there!
