The OC Fair 2016 is back at the OC Fair and Event Center for its 126th year and with a new year comes new awesome foodie favorites that were just released at the fair. There are so many awesome items this year that I was invited to come to the fair to sample and I must share about each and every one of them with all of you! 🙂 Read on for information about each of the 14 new items I got to try and where you can find each one located in the OC Fair! See you there! 🙂

The first Food vendor that I tried items from was the ever so famous Chicken Charlie’s. I love Chicken Charlie and Chicken Gerald! They always have amazing new items each year. Their locations include one near Plaza Pacifica close to the Kiddie Carnival and another 2 locations in the Main Mall. This year their newest items include:

Item #1 – Chicken in a Waffle on a Stick is presented very nicely and I was so excited for this one. The flavor was good, but by the time I got to this item it was not piping hot, so I must go back and give it another try. This one gets an A + for presentation and it is easy to carry around while you enjoy the fair. This is served with maple syrup…lots of it…because who does not love fried chicken stuffed inside of a waffle and dipped in Maple Syrup? 🙂

Item #2 – Bacon Wrapped Chicken Leg – This chicken was moist and tender and the batter, bacon and chicken held together quite well. I loved this item and I will go back to order it while the fair is on! 🙂

Item #3 – Top N’ Go Doritos – This one is kind of 2 items in one because there are two new flavors of this Doritos nacho style creation from Chicken Charlie’s. These are actually packages of Doritos doused with nachos cheese and other gourmet goodies…one of them is called “Black Tide” & it is comes with nacho cheese, escargot, and really expensive caviar!” Bizarre right? The other one is the “Surf N’ Turf” which has steak and lobster. While I only tried the Surf N’ Turf, this is another item I must revisit that I believe would be better piping hot. By the time I photographed all of the items, these nachos were already cold. Awesome concept!

The second food vendor that I sampled food from was Bacon-A-Fair & they happened to have my favorite item this year! 🙂 Their location in the OC Fair is near Plaza Pacifica.

Item #4 – Pepsi Cola Donut Dog – I honestly did not think I was going to like this one and I was most pleasantly surprised that it worked wonderfully! This hot dog that is marinated in Pepsi Cola and laid out in a glazed donut bun blew me away! This was one of my favorite items of the day!

Item #5 – French Toast Bacon Bombs – This one wins first prize on my list! These small gooey morsels that were doused in maple syrup had a huge burst of a great explosion of cream cheese inside that made me want more! I was not expecting the warm melty goodness inside and when I took one bite, I was in heaven! French toast, bacon, cream cheese, and maple syrup = genius idea!! Go Bacon-A-Fair!!! I promise I will be back to visit you again this year at the fair!

The third food vendor we enjoyed food from was Biggy’s. This year they are located in the Main Carnival area and Dominic (the man in charge of this foodie favorite) is awesome! He is also in charge at Fair Fix & Fried A Fair. Definitely tell him hello if you see him! He is pictured below. Great guy!

Item #6 – Bacon Wrapped Pork Belly Dog – I am not a big pork person other than bacon so I cannot say I had this item but I saw that other people loved it. Here it is pictured below. 🙂

The fourth vendor, Fair Fix & Fried A Fair is also located in the Main Carnival area this year and they graced our presence this year with one of their 2 new items. I will have to go back to visit them to try the Deep Fried Nutella…
Item #7 – Deep Fried Butter – Wow! Just wow!! Bite into one of these babies and your mouth is full of melted butter…I may have to purchase the surf and turf nachos above and combine the lobster with these little butter bombs! These are delicious but filling…There were so many items to taste, I was only able to eat half of one of these. I have a feeling if I get my hands on the Nutella ones though…I will be unable to stop. 🙂

The fifth vendor, Pickle O’ Pete’s brought 2 items and they are located in the Kiddie Carnival area.

Item #8 – Pickled Cheese on a Stick – This was an interesting concept. I love cheese, so how could I go wrong? This is another item I need to revisit when it is piping hot. One of my friends ate this one fresh from the oven and could not stop saying how delicious it was! Battered pickle with cheese, yes my friends, this happened…

Item #9 – Pickle Fries – These deep fried pickle strips are served with ranch. I really loved this concept! 🙂

The sixth vendor was Pink’s Hot Dogs and they are located over by the Centennial Farm this year. With 2 new items, my mouth was watering to check them out! They decided to go with a Lord of the Rings & Game of Thrones theme.
Item #10 – Daenerys Mother of Doggies – This was a spicy polish sausage with kraut-sour cream, onions, red sprouts, and drops of sriracha. I don’t eat sausage, but this was one of my hubby’s favorites!

Item #11 – Lord of the Rings Dog – This was another one of my favorite items of the day. This was a hot dog with barbecue sauce and fried onion rings wrapped around the dogs. This had great flavor and was cooked perfectly! Yum!

The seventh vendor was Tasti Burgers and Chips. They are located over by the animals on Livestock Lane. They brought out two new items along with their fabulous Tasti Chips in three different varieties, Garlic Parmesan, original, and with Jalapeno Nacho Cheese sauce.

Item #12 – Bacon Cheddar Brat Burger – This burger was loaded with style and flavor. I pulled the brats aside for myself because as I mentioned I am not a sausage fan, but the flavor on this burger and the moist juiciness was perfection!

Item #13 – All American Reuben Burger – I loved this burger! This was another one of my favorites. Tasti Chips created the classic Reuben sandwich with pastrami, kraut cheese, and more and added their burger to the mix! Great flavor. I will definitely revisit this item at the fair when I go back soon!

The eighth and last vendor we sampled was from Texas Donuts. They are also located in the Main Mall area.
Item #14 – The last and final item I tried and photographed was the S’moreo Texas Donut. I am always impressed with the donuts the ladies of this food stand have to offer! In the past there have been Cherry Pop Rock, Samoa, Fireball, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup and more…This newest crazy concoction was loaded up with Oreos, graham crackers, and Jet Puffed marshmallow crème.
