The 8th annual Lobsterfest is coming to the Newport Dunes on Sunday, August 7th to serve up seafood, music, and family fun to benefit the Make-A-Wish® Orange County and Inland Empire and Leadership Tomorrow – Orange County.
Make-A-Wish® grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Leadership Tomorrow, in conjunction with the Newport Beach, Costa Mesa, Irvine and Tustin chambers of commerce, is a nine-month program designed for informed citizens committed to learning more about their communities. Tuition for the year is $1400 and for the last 7 years Lobsterfest has awarded 8-10 Scholarships to deserving recipients!!
This annual celebration of summer centers around a lobster dinner with dancing, live music, raffles, prizes and fun on the beach for the entire family. Live Maine lobster will be flown in fresh on the morning of the event and will be prepared on-site alongside a buffet that includes NY Strip Steak, corn-on-the-cob, salads and dessert!
Live entertainment will happen from 4 to 8 p.m. Pinch Me! Band, a high-energy rock-n-pop band will; be playing favorites from more than seven decades. In addition to the live music, Lobsterfest will have special activities on-site for youngsters provided by Camp James.
Tickets for the Lobsterfest event at the Newport Dunes Marina are $60 per person in advance & $80 at the door. Additional lobster may be purchased for $20 each. A special ‘box’ meal for children under 12 is available for $20 in advance and $25 at the door.
VIP tickets, which include all-you-can-eat lobster dinner, complimentary beer and wine, valet parking and reserved seating in front of the stage area, are $150 in advance. Tickets can be purchased online at LobsterfestAtNewportBeach.com.
Lobsterfest will take place at Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort & Marina; at 101 North Bayside Drive, Newport Beach (enter from Pacific Coast Highway). Every year I try so hard to make this event and I am out of town, but it looks like this year, I am free, so I certainly hope to see you there!
