Where To Go In Los Angeles For Fashion District Sample Sales

This past April I attended a Lifestyle Blogger conference located in downtown Los Angeles in the Cooper Design Space Center. This building is located in the famous Fashion District in Los Angeles.  I had never been to the Cooper Design Center before and did not know what to expect, but let me tell you…I was pleasantly surprised!!  For those of you that don’t know me, I LOVE to shop, but only when I know I can get a good deal and this place was phenomenal!!

 

Upon arriving at the Cooper Design Center , it looked like any other average building you would find in downtown Los Angeles, but once I entered, I could not escape the Clothing sample sales on every level of the building in every suite I passed by! So, what is a sample sale some of you may be wondering? They are awesome sales on brand new clothing designs fresh from the designers themselves.  These sample sales are to help designers get their name out into the public to grow in the fashion industry.

These sample sales also house some of the most contemporary designs from top designers that are big in fashion magazines and the film industry.  These sales happen the last Friday of every month and I cannot believe that I did not know about them until I happened to be attending an event in one of their buildings. The sales apparently are not only in the Cooper Design Space, but they also are in The California Market Center, Gerry Building & the New Mart.  All of these buildings are located at the intersection of Los Angeles & 9^th Streets & the sales run from about 9am to 3pm and some of them are cash only, so make sure to hit up the atm before heading to the sales. 

I happened to be at the conference the weekend of April 26 & 27, which was also the only weekend in the year that has a special sale put on by the Fashion Industries Guild & Cedar Sinai Hospital.  This sale was really impressive in that there was such a large variety and so many styles of clothing in all sizes and colors to accommodate men, women, and children.  The sale that was going on as a charity to support the Cedar Sinai hospital was very impressive because they had the best prices and it was all for a good cause.  While at the sale, I purchased 7 different shirts all for under $40!!  What a steal!  I got everything from Disney t-shirts to work shirts to going out attire.  There was such a variety! Check out my pictures to see some of the items I purchased.  I definitely plan to hit up the last Fridays sale in Downtown Los Angeles sometime soon.
