This past April I traveled to Napa Valley to go wine tasting and was very excited about this journey in that I had last visited Napa Valley to celebrate my one year wedding anniversary back in June 2006! Upon arriving in Napa in our rental car we took from San Francisco airport (Side note: We used the best rental car company ever!! See article here: SUPER CHEAP CAR RENTALS We were ready to go wine tasting the second we starting to see the open land and wineries throughout the valley.

For those of you that have never traveled to wine country, the scenery is absolutely amazing. In Orange County, California, where I live it is a busy bustling area and homes are literally built on top of one another and businesses occupy the land that is not occupied by the homes. I rarely get to see open land. When you enter Napa Valley, it is literally like driving in paradise with rolling hills, wineries, farm animals, and grapevines for miles. There are so many fabulous wineries in the region and there is absolutely no way to hit them all.

As you all must know by now, I am an extreme savings machine that does not mess around wasting my cash…If I wasted my money, I would not have been able to travel to Napa in the first place.:) I must say everything in Napa gets very expensive…especially the wine tasting fees that go along with each place you visit. As my husband was driving into town, I was actively searching for deals or discounts on my cell phone to use at wineries in the nearby area when I came across and application to download on my phone called “Winery finder App.”

I quickly downloaded Wine finder App on my phone and it quickly became my new best friend on my journeys through Napa Valley!! The Winery Finder App not only allowed me to find all of the wineries that were offering deals, such as buy one get one free tasting, free tasting, discounts on wine, it also allowed me to see where they were geographically on a map in relation to exactly where we happened to

be driving in the exact moment!!! This had to be the handiest tool for our trip to Napa because we hit a variety of fabulous wineries and we got to methodically map them out in order and only hit the wineries we selected with a discount.

At this point, I know many of you are thinking but were there really many options to choose from in the application or were they just a few crappy places off the beaten track?? Good question you ask, I was actually amazed because almost every winery I wanted to visit was listed in this application. A select few I knew I wanted to go to were Cakebread (you need to make a reservation there, but it is well worth it) Artesa, and Sebastiani. These are all big name wineries for those of you t hat know your wine, but all of

them were in the app! On our journey some of the wineries we went to included: Cakebread, Artesa, Gundlach Bundschu, Elizabeth Spencer, Peju, Tamber Bey and Flora Springs. To see details about all of these wineries, visit my husband’s article here: Napa Valley Wineries

In using the Winery Finder App, the only thing they required was a picture check in on facebook at each winery that you were required to show each winery prior to getting your free tasting. For those of you that know me, this is absolutely no problem because I am regularly the social media queen that always has something to post on my page. 🙂 This is a great way to make sure that you take pictures on your trip with your loved ones so that you have memories as well. Wine Finder App is

a win-win to use on your trip to Napa no matter how you look at it!! I will definitely keep this app on my phone for future visits to wine country!

You would have thought, with all the drinking my late husband did, that he would have enjoyed this. But he never wanted to do it, and I don’t drink. So I would enjoy the countryside and the grand landscape, and leave the wine tasting to Dov!!
