The legendary Queen Mary Ship in the port of Long Beach welcomes the return of a frightful Halloween tradition with their annual Dark Harbor event October 3

through November 2, 2013 from 7p.m. to midnight. There will be 17 haunted evenings for guests to experience the deadliest show on earth featuring a new horrific circus of spectacles, freaks and sideshows inspired by some of the ship’s most infamously haunted spirits and tales…

Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor is excited to introduce the newest character, The Ringmaster, as she orchestrates the freaks and monsters through the nightmare of evil. The Ringmaster, The Captain and their scary crew of ghosts including Samuel the Savage, Graceful Gale, Half-Hatch Henry and Scary Mary have conjured up an all-new bloodcurdling vintage circus under the big top tent inside the deadly dome.

“Through the actual haunted history of the ship we are able to increase the fright factor for Dark Harbor each year,” commented JJ Wickham, production designer and art director of Dark Harbor. “With the new Ringmaster spirit and her cast of freaks leading the circus- inspired festivities, this season’s event is sure to be the scariest yet.”

An all-new circus maze featuring a terrifying madhouse will disorient guests’ illusions through fatally horrific magic, paranormal wonders and spirited thrills like never seen before. There will be a new freak show of devilish entertainers to invite guests to experience fierce and terrifying freaks. The new Coney Island inspired vintage circus ride “ferris-squel,” mini mazes and chilling side shows will have visitors shocked in awe.

The Queen Mary is often cited as one of the most haunted places in the world. This gives the Dark Harbor event an authentic atmosphere unlike any other theme-park haunt.

Dark Harbor definitely sounds to me like a unique haunted experience in comparison to many others in Southern California and the ticket prices are quite reasonable, starting at just $24 online, with Fast Fright, VIP Passes and lodging packages also available. There are also season passes including a general admission and Fast Fright Pass. Dark Harbor will be open October 3-5; 11-13; 17-20, 24-27 and Oct 31 – November 2 from 7 p.m. to midnight.

I have been coming to visit the Queen Mary Ship for a long time with my friends and family and my husband even used to work on the ship when he was in college, so I always hear about the creepy ghost stories and events that took place on the ship. I have been there for dinners, weddings, brunches, New Year’s Eve Parties, wine tasting events, as well as a variety of other activities. I have put a few pictures in this post of my past ventures on the Queen Mary. 🙂

As for a bit of history about the ship, the Queen Mary is located in the Port of Long Beach and has a rich history, authentic Art Deco décor, as well as gorgeous views of the Pacific Ocean and the Long Beach city skyline. At the time of her maiden voyage in May of 1936, she was considered the grandest ocean liner ever built.

Please let me know details below about what you think of the event if you happen to go! I am looking forward to checking out this event this Thursday, October 3rd for grand opening night! Stay tuned for a picture post! 🙂 For more Halloween events in the OC & LA area check out this link here—-> OC & LA HALLOWEEN EVENTS FOR ADULTS

This looks so scary and so fun all at the same time! How much does it cost?
It definitely wil be a great time:) Prices are listed on my post Yvonne.:)
I was surprised when I discovered that the Ringmaster was a she. At first look, it seems like a male Ringmaster. Anyway, these is such a great event to look forward to these coming Halloween. I think it would be a great experience to check on such an awesome
Theme Park like the Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor. Great post.
I was honestly surprised too John..I had to make sure I was writing that correctly…:) Thank you for the compliment and the comment.:)
I’m not a Halloween celebrator at all. I would love to visit the Queen Mary though. I’ve been by there but never had the occasion to take a tour. She sure looks regal sitting there.
You would love it Carla! Gorgeous ship with some fabulous restaurants and bars:)
Im not sure I could get on a ship with all those scary characters! It looks like you and the Queen Mary go back a long way!
Anita, I must admit…I am little freaked out myself. I have had many great times on the Queen Mary for sure.:)
I have been there, but not for this event. Heard of it and sounds really cool. This is a great tour if you get out to Cali a must see!
Thanks for the comment Lisa:) Queen Mary is always a great time:)
I’m not a Halloween person, but I sure would like to be able to go see the Queen Mary. Sounds like some great history there.
Oh yes there is! It is a gorgeous ship Jim! You would love it.:)
What an exciting adventure! Wish it were closer for us to attend.
You need to make some plans to come out and visit.:)
This is the perfect venue for a haunt! I have never been to see the Queen Mary, but I have heard stories of it being haunted. I have been to “Knott’s Scary Farm” when I was a teenager…eeekkk!
I used to go to Knott’s all of the time..I have not done that one in awhile, but I think this one definitely looks scarier..I am a little freaked out! 🙂
I would love love love to go to this! Halloween and scary things are one of my favorites! I love the creepy photos!
Awesome Jennifer:) I hope you get to make it out to the event sometime! Glad you enjoyed!
Oh my this looks scary – too much for me but I sure know plenty of people who would love it! I would absolutely love to visit the ship, though, if only I lived closer.
I have to admit, I am scared Irene, but I am sure I will be fine…maybe I just won’t sleep for a few nights…lol
What a fun and scary event. I would love to be there on Halloween. The Ringmaster sounds especially frightening.
I am pretty scared myself:)
We love Halloween time around here.. kids have been mad since the last 2 were washed away. I think a party on that boat would be awesome.
Washed away?? You should bring them out here and do the Queen Mary! 🙂
Oh my my, Were you invited to the Queen Mary ship?
I’d love to see it inside and out.
Oh yes my friend:) I cannot wait to go! It is a beautiful ship! You have to check it out one day:)
I love Halloween too! This looks like a fun event. If only I were in the area…..
Awww…come on out and visit:)
That looks like a tremendous amount of fun! They offer some neat things locally in PA on a train that includes dinner, ride, and murder mystery, but it doesn’t look nearly as fun as this. Being on the east coast I cannot make it, but I’m definitely sharing this with my friends, many of whom are in California. I hope you give us an update on the event?
Don thank you so much for the comment:) The Queen Mary definitely has many fabulous events that they offer and this will be my first year doing their Halloween event and I am excited:) Thank you so much for sharing and I hope you have the opportunity to make it out to the festivities on the ship here sometime soon:) In what part of Cali do you friends live? Norcal or Socal? 🙂
