
HALLOWEEN 2015 ADULTS AND CHILDREN – SEE LINK HERE. Spooky Science event at the Discovery Cube
Address: 2500 N. Main St. Santa Ana, CA
Date & Time: 714-542-2823, 10:00 a.m. daily until October 31
This is an educational event at the Discovery Cube. They will be having their annual Spooky Science exhibit, a limited-time adventure where kids and grown-ups discover some cool science facts about familiar Halloween stories. You can also get up close and personal with spiders, learn how to make your own green slime, play with color changing liquids, build your own haunted house out of blocks, & study air to predict weather patterns for Halloween night. There will be pumpkin decorating as well!

Date & Time: 12:00 p.m. October 26
Kids can dress in their favorite costume and join at the center for free trick or treating from 12 to 1 pm (ages 2– 10) sponsored by The Halloween Club. Afterwards you can enjoy our pumpkin patch & petting zoo. Kids are also invited to paint their own custom pumpkin.

Kidz Block Party – Brea Downtown

Date: Oct. 31, 2014
This is a family-friendly Halloween celebration hosted by The Cause Community Church. Kids can get their fill of tasty free treats and then burn off the sugar by rock climbing, taking pony rides and jumping around in the bouncy house. There will also be face painting, a petting zoo, raffles and prizes. There will be live music for the adults to enjoy playing on the main stage.

Irvine Park Railroad Pumpkin Patch – Irvine Park Railroad

Date: Now through Oct. 31, 2014
Irvine Railroad Pumpkin Patch has an annual fall event. In addition to train rides, there will be carnival games, hay rides, face painting, pony rides and bouncy houses. There is also a pumpkin patch with pumpkins to take home and decorate. Older kids may be interested in renting bikes and paddle boats, hiking, horseback riding, playing volleyball and competing in a game of horseshoe.

Main Street Halloween Fest Downtown Huntington Beach
Address: Main Street and 5th Street by Pacific Coast Highway, (714) 536-8300
Date: October 31, 2014
This annual Halloween celebration is for people of all ages and is put together by the Downtown Business Improvement District. The spooky festivities include a moon bounce, petting zoo, & a Ferris wheel.

Boot Hill Irvine
Address: 16 Goldenrod, Irvine, CA, 818-633-0300
Date & Time: Select nights starting October 17
Price: Free to all, donations are accepted with proceeds going to CHOC, Children’s Hospital of Orange County.
This elaborate yard display in Irvine is an old favorite of mine. I grew up around the corner from this house and this was one of my favorite homes to visit year after year! , Boot Hill rises from the fog for its’ 14th year to inhabit the residence at 16 Goldenrod. The spirits will materialize for NINE nights, transforming the residence at 16 Goldenrod into the old church and cemetery that once occupied the land. Beware of the ghost of Jedediah Smith; he has been known to roam through the decaying grounds of Boot Hill.

Spooktacular Saturdays – The Great Park in Irvine
Address: 5 Freeway and Sand Canyon, Irvine, CA
Dates: October 4, 11, 18 & 25, 2014
There will be four days of family fun and entertainment! Each Saturday, families can enjoy traditional fall festivities at the Orange County Great Park. Festivities include kids’ crafts, petting zoo, carnival games, Harvest Walk, entertainment, gourmet food trucks and more.

Pretend City Trick-or-Treat Activity
Address: Pretend City, 29 Hubble, Irvine, CA 92618
Date & Time: Friday, October 31, 10:00am – 4:00pm
Price: Included with museum admission
Pretend City will be hosting a Halloween Bug Bash! Come dressed in costume and creep and crawl your way through the city as you trick-or-treat for non-candy treats at each of our exhibit spaces every 2 hours.

This is great – we used to be able to go house to house and trick-or-treat, but not in this day and age. So nice to have events, instead!
I used to love trick or treating myself. My brother & I would use pillow cases to get a lot of candy! 🙂
